07d9d694da Rename smack-java8(-full) to smack-java11(-full)
To denote that Smack now requires at least Java 11 to run. Fixes

1e5d34eacf Bump to Gradle 8.10.2, require Java 11
Bump Gradle from 6.8.3 to 8.10.2 and increase the minimum required
Java version from 8 to 11 (SMACK-953).

The switch from Java 8 to 11 caused some Bytecode portability issues
regarding NIO Buffers. Java changed with version 9 the return type of
some subclasses of Buffer to return the specific Buffer type instead
of the Buffer superclass [JDK-4774077]. For example, ByteBuffer.filp()
previously returned Buffer, while it does return ByteBuffer now.

This sensible change was not reflected by the Android API [1], which
means that AnimalSniffer rightfully started to complain that there is
no method "ByteBuffer ByteBuffer.flip()" in Android, there is only
"Buffer ByteBuffer.flip()", and those are incompatible methods on
Java's Bytecode layer.

As workaround, this changes

    return charBuffer.flip().toString();

to

    ((java.nio.Buffer) charBuffer).flip();
    return charBuffer.toString();

to restore the Bytecode portability between Android and Java.

Errorprone also got new checks, of which JavaUtilDate and JdkObsolete
are wroth mentioning.

JavaUtilData basically strongly recommends to use Java's newer time
API over java.util.Date. But since Smack was Java 8 until now,
j.u.Date is widely used.

Similar JdkObsolete mentions obsolete JDK APIs, like data structures
like Vector and Stack. But mostly LinkedList, which should usually be
replaced by ArrayList. And this is what this commit largely does.

3d4e7938a7 Make ExtensionElement marker interface wrt. QNAME field
ExtensionElement is now a marker interface that requires all
implementation non-abstract classes to carry a static final QNAME
field (of type QName). This is verified by a new unit test.

Also FullyQualifiedElement is renamed to simply XmlElement. XmlElement
is used over ExtensionElement when implementing classes do not
statically know the qualified name of the XML elements they
represent. In general, XmlElement should be used sparingly, and every
XML element should be modeled by its own Java class (implementing
ExtensionElement).

This also lifts a bunch of logic from smack-websocket-okhttp into
smack-websocket. Furthermore, the following subprojects require now
Java 11:
- smack-integration-test
- smack-omemo-signal-integration-test
- smack-repl
- smack-websocket-java11

e8fef260e6 sinttest: migrate to JUnit5, drop JUnit4
The before/after class annotations are now no longer borrowed from
JUnit.

Also some integration tests used @After and/or @Before from JUnit,
which was never supported nor had any effected. Those methods got
deleted. But since there appears to be a desire for such a
functionality in sinttest, we should consider adding one.

b5f9d4d7a3 Introduce test fixtures
This also removes the powermock dependency. Although powermock is a
fine library, it currently prevents dropping Junit4. And since we only
use the Whitebox API of powermock, this simply replaced powermock's
Whitebox with our own.

XmppNioTcpConnection. The new architecture allows to extend an XMPP

other extensions.

aec648c34b Improve PubSubIntegrationTest
Ensuring that the node has no items in
transientNotificationOnlyNodeWithoutItemTest() is not right. An
implementation is free to create an item with an ID and return it. The
item is just not guaranteed to be persistent.

Also add a dummy payload to
transientNotificationOnlyNodeWithItemTest().

4133eb175c Replace XPP3 by XmlPullParser interface wrapping StAX and XPP3
Introducing Smack's own XmlPullParser interface which tries to stay as
compatible as possible to XPP3. The interface is used to either wrap
StAX's XMLStreamReader if Smack is used on Java SE, and XPP3's
XmlPullParser if Smack is used on on Android.

Fixes SMACK-591.

Also introduce JUnit 5 and non-strict javadoc projects.

e98d42790a SmackReactor/NIO, Java8/Android19, Pretty print XML, FSM connections
This commit adds
- SmackReactor / NIO
- a framework for finite state machine connections
- support for Java 8
- pretty printed XML debug output

It also
- reworks the integration test framework
- raises the minimum Android API level to 19
- introduces XmppNioTcpConnection

Furthermore fixes SMACK-801 (at least partly). Java 8 language
features are available, but not all runtime library methods. For that
we would need to raise the Android API level to 24 or higher.

Rework support for XEP-0384: OMEMO Encryption
Changes:

    Rework integration tests
New structure of base integration test classes
bump dependency on signal-protocol-java from 2.4.0 to 2.6.2
    Introduced CachingOmemoStore implementations
Use CachingOmemoStore classes in integration tests
Removed OmemoSession classes (replaced with more logical OmemoRatchet classes)
Consequently also removed load/storeOmemoSession methods from OmemoStore
Removed some clutter from KeyUtil classes
Moved trust decision related code from OmemoStore to TrustCallback
Require authenticated connection for many functions
Add async initialization function in OmemoStore
    Refactor omemo test package (/java/org/jivesoftware/smack/omemo -> /java/org/jivesoftware/smackx)
Remove OmemoStore method isFreshInstallation() as well as defaultDeviceId related stuff
FileBasedOmemoStore: Add cleaner methods to store/load base data types (Using tryWithResource, only for future releases, once Android API gets bumped)
Attempt to make OmemoManager thread safe
new logic for getInstanceFor() deviceId determination
OmemoManagers encrypt methods now don't throw exceptions when encryption for some devices fails. Instead message gets encrypted when possible and more information about failures gets returned alongside the message itself
Added OmemoMessage class for that purpose
    Reworked entire OmemoService class
Use safer logic for creating trust-ignoring messages (like ratchet-update messages)
Restructure elements/provider in order to prepare for OMEMO namespace bumps
Remove OmemoManager.regenerate() methods in favor of getInstanceFor(connection, randomDeviceId)
    Removed some unnecessary configuration options
Prepare for support of more AES message key types
    Simplify session creation
Where possible, avoid side effects in methods
    Add UntrustedOmemoIdentityException
    Add TrustState enum
    More improved tests

e86700b040 Add OMEMO support
This commit adds the modules smack-omemo and smack-omemo-signal.
smack-omemo is licensed under the Apache license like the rest of the smack project.
smack-omemo-signal on the other hand is licensed under the GPLv3.
Due to the fact, that smack-omemo is not of much use without smack-omemo-signal,
the OMEMO feature can currently only be used by GPLv3 compatible software.
This may change in the future, when a more permissively licensed module becomes available.

Fixes SMACK-743.
